The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) has for the first time honoured a washing machine with the ECARF Seal of Quality for products and services suitable for allergy sufferers. ECARF allergy experts demonstrated in several wash tests that the Bosch washing machines of the series “Avantixx 7”, “Logixx 8” and “EcoLogixx 8 i-DOS” meet all criteria for certification.

“The certified models make everyday life easier for those afflicted by allergies”, says Prof. Dr. med. Torsten Zuberbier, head of the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF). “With the help of longer and more intensive washing and rinsing cycles, flower pollen, animal hair and detergent residue can be removed from clothing almost entirely. This means a reduced risk of contact with allergens for allergic consumers.”

The washing machines are fitted with a special “Sensitive” cycle, in which the machines maintain a higher temperature for longer and run an additional rinse cycle, thereby reducing allergy-causing residue. Each machine also includes a “water plus” option, which allows an additional rinse cycle to be added in standard washing cycles as well. In addition, the model “EcoLogixx 8 i-DOS” also runs an automatic dosage system which ensures that the exact amount of detergent needed is used in order optimize washing results.

The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) awards the ECARF Seal of Quality according to scientifically proven criteria to products and services suitable for allergic persons. The Seal offers allergy sufferers practical ways to significantly reduce contact with allergens and allergy triggers in everyday life.

The series “Avantixx 7”, “Logixx 8” and “EcoLogixx 8 i-DOS” allergy-safe washing machines are produced by the Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH in Munich.
