Freezer door not closing

If your freezer door is not closing properly your appliance will not function as intended. To find the best possible solution for your case, we recommend reading through the article below, and checking if one of the common issues could be causing the problem.

Note: Door replacements should only be carried out by professionals.

Faulty door seal

If your freezer’s door seal has a leak, the door will fail to close properly. You can check if the door seal is faulty by trying to slip a small piece of paper or a €5 note through the door. If the item goes through, you will need to replace it. Fortunately, replacing the door seal is an easy task and does not require a technician.

Aside from your door seal leaking, it could also lose magnetisation, which will require you to either re-magnetise it or replace it. If you are not familiar with how to do this, we recommend replacing the seal as a whole.

Align the appliance

Check that the appliance is level by using a spirit level. If the appliance is not appropriately positioned the door may not close properly. You can use the bolts underneath the freezer to help you level it out.
