Dishwasher not cleaning tea stains

Removing coloured stains can be tricky, but it’s not unmanageable – whether it is from tea, lipstick or tomato sauce, we’ve got you covered. Before starting, it’s important to note that this is not an appliance fault, however there are a number of causes, which could be related to the maintenance of the appliance.

Use the additional functions

Boost the rinsing and drying cycles with the additional functions that your dishwasher has. Some of our appliances are fitted with Shine and Dry, which is a powerful function that can help prevent stains and improve the drying results by prolonging the rinsing process as well as the drying phase. Please read through your instruction manual to familiarise yourself with the additional features of your dishwasher.

Use a hotter wash cycle

Sometimes a cool wash just won’t do. By increasing the temperature of the wash cycle, stains and detergents dissolve better. This can lead to improved cleaning results as well as more hygienic washes. To target stubborn stains, such as those from tea and lipstick, we recommend using Eco 50°.

Check for blockage

The nozzles on your spray arms could become blocked, which would interrupt the water flow and as a result the rinsing process. To learn more about how to clean the spray arms, click here. Additionally, you can check if your dishwasher tablet has dissolved properly as sometimes a pan handle or a larger item can obstruct the tablet from being released into its collecting tray.
