Tumble dryer burning clothes

If you notice that your tumble dryer is burning your clothes, or can smell a burning odour coming from the appliance, we recommend to refrain from using the machine until the root of the problem has been professionally identified and resolved by an engineer. A dryer may leave burn marks on your clothes from overheating and due to the nature of the malfunction, it can be difficult to diagnose the source of the problem on your own. Because of this, we recommend booking an engineer appointment to ensure that the problem is professionally resolved so that you can safely enjoy using your appliance.

However, our general advice to prevent this from happening in the future is to:

Regularly clean the vent

If the vent on your tumble dryer gets clogged with lint, the appliance will not function properly. You will also notice that the filter no longer collects as much lint as it would normally. You can use a vacuum cleaner to clean out the lint and other debris that has built up inside the pipe. If you notice that there is any visible damage to the pipe, we recommend contacting one of our technicians to have the part replaced.

Avoid overloading the dryer
