Beer-Battered Onion Rings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup beer (adjust as needed for consistency)
  • 3 large onions, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup oil for frying (adjust based on pan size)

Method

  1. Combine flour, egg, parsley, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.
  2. Gradually add beer, stirring until a thick batter forms.
  3. Adjust the amount of beer as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
  4. Heat oil in a heavy frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Adjust the amount of oil based on the size of your pan to ensure there are a couple of inches of oil.
  6. Once the oil is hot, dip the onions in the batter and fry, turning once to brown evenly on both sides.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
