Accounts Executive

Scope:
Oxford House, synonymous with the import and retail of home appliances, kitchens, home furniture, bedding and office solutions, is seeking to recruit the services of an Accounts Executive. The Accounts Executive is a professional who will work within the bookkeeping team of the organisation, with its various tasks and responsibilities. The selected candidate will be a responsible and detail-oriented individual who will play a critical role in supporting and delivering the organisation’s accounting functions, supporting a variety of tasks related to bookkeeping, financial reporting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable using accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Process invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
  • Undertake inventory counts and process work-in-progress, and inventory movement related transactions.
  • Maintain asset records and process asset related transactions.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Be involved in payroll and wages accounting transactions and related accounting information required and statutory returns.
  • Verify the procedures and controls used for recording financial transactions.
  • Process and pay invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  • Prepare and file tax and VAT returns and other statutory documents.
  • Assist with financial audits and reviews and liaise with external auditors.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures.
  Requirements and Skills:
  • Diploma or certificate in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field, or completion of an accounting technician program accredited by a professional accounting body.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a similar role or industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Shireburn, Sage or Xero and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
